I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

Post Re: Sept 2010
we're working mostly on the garden harvest.
got some broc and tomatoes on my nightly walk around the garden. I finished up dehydrating some basil and carrots. Ended up with just under a pint of dried basil and just under a quart of dried carrots.
We also ordered 15 Rhode Island Red chicks today. I'm hoping some of the group might want a few...we'll see how this goes. The other chickens aren't laying, so they will be eased out of the flock.

Got 2 lined flannel shirts for 50 cents each and 2 winter coats for $2 each at a yard sale. Also got a 48pack of
AAA batteries (store brand) for $13.87 at Sam's Club. Will try them in the flashlights and compare to national brands.

I went out of town today and one of the stores that i usually shop at is going out of bussiness..So I was able to get some great deals..

best thing I got was 2 packages with 4 boxs of water proof matches( they were 1.40 a pack)

I got back to school clothes for the kids

Reading glasses for 60 cents a pair
gardening gloves 60 cents a pair
fluffy socks package of 3 for 1.60
kitchen knives 80 cents each
cheese graters 1.94 each
can opener 3 dollars( good one)
one of those vaccum bags to store blamkets in a nice big one for 3.50

I even got some Easter stuff and bunnylove got some stuff together for her halloween costume

the rest was all regular stuff for the house but at great savings

while I was out of town and my canned breads were cooling, I had to leave the dehydrator on with the tomatoes in it..MY 19 YEAR OLD took care of them and he did an awesome job..woohoo

Got a bunch of reading material for the winter. Picked up 28 Robert Heinlein and Isaac Asimov paperback books for $5 . Woo-hoo !
Plus at my favorite dumpster, we got a garbage bag full of towels and a throw rug. We happened to be on our way to the laundromat at the time, and just threw them in also.

Wow Prairiemoon! great work! I'm jealous. We spent the day off and on chopping tomatoes, hot pappers, regular pappers and onions to make salsa. I also have a huge bunch of carrots in the dehydrator as well as some tomato slices.
