I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

 Re: SELF-RELIANCE GARDENING
I'm just afraid gardening takes talent, which I know I don't have. : ( This will help, though, thanks!

 Re: SELF-RELIANCE GARDENING
It does not take talent. It takes experience learned from a series of small successes. A single cherry tomato plant near where you sit outside. Look at it often, watch it's phases of growth, flowering, and fruiting. Notice that it takes a few weeks of root growth before it takes off. If it looks a little wilted stick your finger in the soil and feel for warmth, moisture. Watch the little flower buds open, dry out, fall and that tiny green gem turn into a baby tomato and grow, turning from green to a tinge of pink on the sunny side to orange to red. Study it. Start small but start now. Putting your hands in the dirt is good for your soul.

 Re: SELF-RELIANCE GARDENING
Thanks! Everything I've tried to grow I've killed, but I think it's because I'd get distracted and I'd end up neglecting it. That's a good idea to try with just one plant. I'll do that. I tried to store enough food to cover the learning curve for gardening, but I do need to start now.
