Recipes from what you currently have in kitchen
This is a tad off my typical topic agenda but related insofar as it is an excellent way to get folks, who otherwise can't boil water successfully, to learn to master the art of food preparation. Most prep sites preach that you should store what you eat but prepared foods just don't fit into that storage system with any longevity, so one should really learn to grow food that is both nutritional and storable. I prefer my root cellar for the apples, carrots, potatoes, turnips etc. since there's no energy required to store these foods throughout the entire winter. A lot of root crops will sprout as summer approaches and, if not used in recipes such as potato pancakes, can be used as seed stock for the seasons new crop.

Goats and chickens find their way on my homestead because they are incredibly easy to feed and maintain while providing multiple products for the kitchen table. They are also easily butchered, requiring minimal meat cutting skills, and don't leave you with hundreds of pounds of meat to figure out how to store. An added benefit (as with rabbits) is that they are prolific breeders so you shouldn't run out of meat, milk or eggs.

Anyway, here's a link to "Supercook" where you'll learn to prepare wonderful meals from whatever you have in the fridge...

Have fun, and bon apetite
