Post re-useable sealer lids!
http://hollythehomemaker.blogspot.com/2 ... nning.html

Was exploring today and found this info on re-useable lids. Holly did some experimenting with the lids a reported her results on her site. This sounds very promising. And the price is not that bad. The initial investment is what gets you, but just like the jars - it's money you never have to spend again. Doing the math - by the time you use them the fifth time they are paid for. And if they do indeed last for about 20 yrs you have 15 yrs of free lids.

Just something to think about when planning for future canning when stores aren't available.

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

I haven't tried them, but would be interested in hearing from those that have them. would be nice to find out if they meet expectations.

It took me a while, but I found the previous thread on this subject.
There is a pretty good discussion of a bulk buy that some of our members
made last year.
Also: they were reviewed in Backwoods Home Magazine, and on their website.

Thanks for the link to the other discussion. So, my question still remains....can anyone tell me about first hand experience with these lids? Theat thread ended in April so I would think that those that bought could tell us how it went when they used them. Doesn't hurt to get the homework done before buying.

I put the word out to a couple of the members that went in on the bulk order..hopefully we will hear back about successes or failures of this product
