 rabbits
I am a little annoyed by people today. I've had an ad out to sell this round of bunnies I've got. They're now 60 days old and just about to breeding amongst themselves. In the next week I will have to butcher them to keep the young bucks from fighting with each other. They are right at 3lbs dressed, same size they always are when i butcher them. I have them advertised at $5, same price as always. Every single person so far has passed because the rabbits "aren't big enough". ROFL if they think I'm gonna feed those things out to 10lbs, they are out of their minds! They obviously have never fed a rabbit before! So, instead of selling them so I can possibly fix a few of the broken things around here, they will end up in the freezer for us to eat. No real loss, food is food but I really need to fix a few things........

 Re: rabbits
dressed 3 pound rabbit is about right. ya start growin them much bigger they get tough.. never weighed ours, they are just old mutt rabbits,we let them go about 10 to 12 weeks generally and i would guess the dressed weight is about that.. lotta good meat for that price.
ahh,, thats why we dont really bother selling much from here. folks aint never satisfied..never good enough for them..

 Re: rabbits
The rabbits are Californian/New Zealand white crosses. They end up being pretty dang big rabbits but it takes 6 months for that. Way more feed than $5 will cover, LOL. Yah, these are just about 10 weeks now, wouldnt hurt to go another week on them, even so, if people think they are gonna get a 10 pound rabbit plus me butchering for then for $5, they are nuts.
The whole point of even posting on craigslist was to work on establishing a food trade spot. If you got sugar, I got salt or deer meat, eggs, etc. A post shtf kind of trade thing. Apparently, it's not going to work here like it did in Colorado 15 years ago. people are to "me me me" now. I hope they starve when shtf, LOL.
