Post Ford Model T- how far have we come ?
I didn't really know where to post this, but it seems to me that a Model T could be as handy as a mule in homesteading.

A friend sent me this documentary video about the Ford Model T and I can’t resist the urge to share it. Edited and narrated by industry researcher Car Data Video, it is a collection of clips from Ford’s assembly lines and road-testing programs.

Footage also shows how people drove in those early days, from hand-cranking the engine to picking the proper clothing. Cars were a big step up from horse-drawn buggies but had to use the same rutted wagon trails. Asphalt highway networks were decades away and some of “roads” in the video would give the latest SUVs trouble.
As Ford launches its Fiesta compact car, in many ways a modern interpretation of the Model T, it is interesting to see how far cars have come since the T rolled out a century ago. I’m also struck by how many basic elements of car design haven’t changed. Are we overdue for a revolution?
