Post Crafting for Christmas
Sooooo, what types of sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, etc.... crafts are you hand making as Christmas gifts this year. Tell us about your projects.

I'm pretending that I don't have 15 unfinished projects at this time and I've started on a really neat neck warmer/head scarf/hood called a moebius scarf. This is the neatest one I've found that doesn't have that pointy alien head look to it when they join the pieces. This pattern is done as one piece. I certainly hope mine comes out as nice as this one.

We have several friends that we hunt with and if this turns out nice then I will be making some for them. I want to do the men's in the green camo and the women's in the pink and purple camo. It gets really cold in those hunting blinds our terribly wet winters here.

I just found out that we are also doing a gift exchange at work for Christmas. All of the women have stated that they just love gifts that are hand made vs store bought so I've come across some really cool items I'd like to make for the gift exchange as well.

Last year I did some beautiful crocheted lace edgings on fleece fabric throws for my daughter in laws and they just loved it. I was actually shocked that the one that is the most materialistic was the very person who just treasures that throw and still shows it off to everyone.

I like that scarf, very neat. Right now I'm working on a few blankets, I'm cutting the fabric for the fish from this pattern right now. http://www.ecrater.com/product.php?pid=5762782 What is it about rustling patterns that draws all the cats into the room?

Not for Christmas as too much already to do. A friend sent me the instructions and a finished potato pouch. Made of cotton fabric and 100% cotton stuffing. Goes into microwave for baked potatoes, corn on the cob, tortillas or whatever.

The potato skins stay nice and moist and the inside is fluffy.

Okay, it's well after this past Christmas when this thread started, but I'm just finding it. And I LOVE the moebius scarf! I think I'll do some for my daughters and d-i-l for next Christmas. It's never too early to start...
