Make your own pumpkin pie spice mix

If you are making pumpkin pie that calls for "pumpkin pie spice" instead of separating it into the individual components, you can easily make your own pumpkin pie spice mix instead of guessing what might be in it, or having to buy some just for the couple of times a year you make pumpkin pie.

For every teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, use:

1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp ginger
1/8 tsp nutmeg
1/8 tsp allspice

You do not have to mix them together before adding it to your recipe, simply combine them once they are in the bowl following the pumpkin pie instructions.
