We bought groceries this morning, and when we were checking out, I noticed they were bagging my groceries in crumpled up sacks pulled from a plastic sack full of bags, some of them weren't even kroger bags, they were wal mart, although they weren't using those.
I said "are you putting my groceries in USED bags?" and the cashier said "oh no, those are just sacks that got pulled off" and at that moment the bagger reached in one of the bags and pulled out a dirty paper towel from the bag she'd just pulled out of the sack, then proceeded to put my groceries in there! Ewwwwwwww.
They are reusing the bags from the recycling bin. That is the nastiest thing I have ever seen. I complained and they just said "thank you for your feedback."
What kind of sick disgusting mind even thinks of things like that? How much good does it do to have wipes for the buggy handle when they're putting my food in someone's USED trash sack?
Gross gross gross.
I called around and they said to complain to the department of agriculture, so I am.
I don't like cross posting but I'm posting this at all three boards I frequent, to warn people.

ewww I would have told them to take those bags and stuff them and would have explained to them I have death allergies and if any thing that I am allergic to had touched those bags I would sue thier arses off....

and then I would have refused to purchase the groceries and walked away.....then put my complaint in...

I didn't notice until they were almost through, and my son was opening at the store he works at, it's in the same shopping center, so I was shopping while he was getting the bank deposit ready.
I still had to take him to the bank, wait for him to make the deposit, and drive him back to open the store. If I'd stood in line to get a refund like I wanted to do, his store would have opened an hour late!
I complained to the dept of agriculture, which oversees grocery stores, kroger corporate, and the better business bureau. The lady at corporate seemed shocked and upset that they were doing that, so maybe heads will roll.

i woulda went nuts.. i sure as heck wouldnt have gotten the groceries.. you should stomp on corporates desk till you get your groceries paid for..

I usually use my own reusable bags anyway. But there's no excuse for not being clean.

I prefer Kroger to the Department of Homeland Security's WalMart. That and it's closer. After I get moved I will be shopping at a little privately owned grocery store and to **** with all the BIG chains. But I hear that WalMart has plans to put in one of their smaller grocery stores nearby and that will probably put the little store out of business; yes, that's right, the MEGA-MART has smaller grocery stores and is targeting small & large grocery stores for takeover.

It is going to get BAD everywhere soon and you'd be surprised what a third world country is like. I was in Thailand a while back before the TSA's days. I stayed away from the resorts and saw the REAL Thailand. There are a few WalMart like stores and LOTS of open markets. Food stuffs lying out in the open as it has for thousands of years until this modern mechanized refrigerated sanitized world we live in today. The US and everywhere is headed to Turd Wurld status and there's no stopping it. The Middle-Class is soon to be extinct and you'd better get used to a little grime because it will get NASTY!

P.S. Probably could report it to the Dept of Health. But as with any Government agency today THEY will probably ignore you. Just stop shopping there, shop at WalMart.

This kroger has always seemed "dirty" but it's right next to where my son works, so I was trying to save gas by combining trips. Never again! I'll head to supertarget, it's sort of on the way home.
