wow Time is always going by so fast

Spring is here and I have been so busy and my ole winter muscles, yes the lazy ones scream at me every day that I work outdoors

Lately I have not done alot in food preps, I still have my house listed for sale and hopefully the market will pick up soon and I can size down and get my financies back in order....

So happy spring everyone, may your baskets be filled to the brim this fall...and the dehydrators and canning pots be working over time

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

My DW uses food as medicines, and avoids ''real doctors''
like the plague, and that means that our first priority for preserving foods for winter are ''Superfoods,'' those not available in winter, and all available in summer.
1st priority is blueberries which are the richest antioxidants readily available.
So far, we've dried 16 pints. sss sss sss ssss

Blueberries, broccoli and spinach are priorities here, too, but we can't run the dehydrator, we would DIE.
It's sooo hot.
We planted three blueberry bushes, two look good so far, the little one not so much. I have a raspberry plant in a pot, it needs transplanting, it has a berry on it!
I ordered four 5 lb boxes of cornbread mix from amazon (about $3.50 each) and three 5 lb boxes of cake mixes (about $4.80 each) and two 5 lb boxes of icing mix. I also ordered a lot of spices, they had them on clearance. I got 12 bottles for an average of $5 each of cinnamon, paprika, coriander seed, dill seed, oregano, italian seasoning, red pepper, celery salt, lemon extract, and poultry seasoning. Less than fifty cents a bottle, seemed like a good deal.
I also got four 10 oz bags of pecans for an average of about $2.80 a bag. Last time I priced pecans they were through the roof, so I think that was a good deal.
I want a pecan tree but they're never available. Demand is really high around here.
The cat food sale is over at amazon, I was getting cases of 24 cans of 5.5 oz friskies for $9.24, a 42 can pack is $22 at Sam's and Costco so I loaded up. I got Miss Kitty cases of fancy feast for a little over $10 each.
Sale is over but I still have quite a few cases of each, maybe enough to last until next sale.
The UPS guy must hate me.

I didn't do NUTH'N.

Too poor right now and the FORECLOSURE is starting.

I've already did everything I can prior to this. I do buy as much food as I can with Food Stamps (SNAP) every month but as soon as the house is gone they will disappear as well.

Can't find any Public Pay Phones anymore. They have become an endangered species. There's still lots of us who can no longer afford the new hi-tech spy-phones. Oh well...

Post Re: June 2011
wow what a saturday we had here today

had a yard sale so I have been up since 5am..had my coffees, then around 6 out to set stuff up..next thing I know its 8 am and it still raining a bit, so I am thinking its not going to be a good day for yard sale..
first customer of the day buys something for a dollar and pays me with pennies( boyaa going to be one of those days)..then we had few people around started selling bits and pieces here and there...

then I have a guy come and buy a small bar fridge I had, this is around 11am...so its raining harder by now, so I bunnylove watches the yard sale and I head over to one that a friend is having with my 14 year old son..

and who do I run into the guy who bought my bar fridge, and I laugh at him and say" here I am selling my stuff goin to look at more..he replies thats ok i just bought a washer and dryer..well I piped if I knew you wanted a washer dryer i would have sold you mine, i have brand new front loaders..so we talk, he bought my front loaders and gave me the ones he bought..and then turns out he is an electrication and is going to change my electris panel for a third of what another company was going to charge me..thats cause he is new to town and trying to build up a bussiness and references...

so booya what i day we scored jusy shy of a thousand in sales today...

and now I am off to bath after yard sale went and got 6 more bags of the sugar that is on sale and bought some grey cement paint and bunnylove and I started painting the basement( since washer and dryer are in the rec room right now..from the switch...

pheww i am pooped..what a fantasticly blessed rainy day.... aaa aaa

Screw selling the house, for me at least. With the property values now I would loose money. Just going to let the BIG BANK take it. Will THEY be in for a surprise though...

Because THEY sent all of our jobs to CHINA or MEXICO or wherever I can't afford to keep up the house. The AC broke year before last. Last winter the Heater went. Then the breaker box started failing and I found out that the breakers are no longer made. All I have now is a house with nothing that works. The joke is going to be on THEM!

And I suppose the new breaker box is installed?
With the pressure cookers or canners, the model number, stamped into the bottom center of the pot will determine the actual size, and the maker, Rival, Mirro, Presto etc.
If there is built up gunk, in the center of the bottom of cooker, clean it off to find model number and maker

Not today but past couple of days while I have been getting regular groceries, I picked up 6 bbq sauces, 4 cans of tuna in oil and 2 1kg jars of peanut butter...This weeks pay I will head back to get some more theses are on sale this week and are a great price.

I got the meat slicer cleaned up a bit and tried it out on a piece of cooked beef, just to see if it would slice..it works, but it is a bit of work and it really needs a agood clean and oiling job...that will a project for down the road...

I also got the dehydrator unpacked and will be planting all of my veggies into the garden( they are in planters in case of the sale of the house), but now with my jobs I may not have to sell.

It's been raining a lot here so not much gardening done.
It let up yesterday and the garden was dry enough to do a little work by afternoon

After running the rototiller and hoe for a couple hours [getting too old for this rototiller thing :( ], I was able to plant about 20 hills of sunflowers, about 60' of a second planting of green beans, and 40" of pinto beans (never grew them before)

Today is the nicest day for a week and wife insists I go to her family reunion. I will for a short while.
Then back home to plant another 50' potatoes and some sweet corn.

I've never done well with corn but like Sisyphus, I keep trying to push that rock up the hill year after year.

Got 25 peeps on Friday to replace the 15 that were wiped out by a coon. I wiped out the coon and now looking for all his relatives.
