Post If you need a hard drive, HURRY!
http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/ ... umers_most

Last month I bought an external hard drive for $89. This month the same hard drive was $189. I bought my niece one for $79, it's now $229. I bought a small one for a friend for $35, it's now $65.
Several places were completely sold out of internal hard drives.
I googled to find out why and found the above article.
My DH said he's having trouble getting hard drives at work for products they sell, and according to the article this will also affect laptops and PC's.
So if you need one get it now, even though the price is double what it was last month.
God keeps me one step ahead, Praise Him! I have about 11 TB total storage. I've been downloading books, prep videos, and entertainment. Sometimes I feel like I'm competing with the Library of Alexandria, let's hope my stuff lasts longer.

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

I've had two Western Digital external hard drives fail. They just don't last wither the full sized or micro's.

A friend gave me a enclosure that you can put any hard drive in and make it an external drive. It's been working great and has outlasted the WD JUNK!

The hard drive is usually what kills a PC. Then you have to get a NEW computer with the NEW MICRO$OFT CRAP! I will NOT use anything after WinXP! In fact I'm looking at something other than MICRO$OFT or APPLE! Too much spyware built into this bloatware anymore. It's time to put an end to THEIR monopoly!

FYI: the WD external drives will not work with any old drive. I did try to put another drive in it and never got it to work. Probably has to be a WD drive or a special one. Another way to CONTROL us.

I use XP, I love it.
My 3TB WD failed, the 3 TB seagate is still working.

I used to like Western Digital but lately... I don't think anything is good anymore. THEY want us to buy, buy, buy...! So why make something that lasts? But I've run out of money since my job left and no one will hire anybody much over 45.

I have not tried a terrabyte drive yet. I'm having fun filling up a 300 GB drive. In fact only half that is used since the other half is a copy. Then I have another 150 GB drive for yet another copy. So when my laptop goes I'll still have all my files. I'll only have to get a new drive and reinstall all the software.

I might do a complete backup but I've never had much luck with completely restoring a system. I usually just do it all from scratch and all my files are on the external copy, not a backup but an actual working copy.

WOW, I remember the days when a 20 MB drive was BIG and memory was only 640 KB! Then we had 1x GB, then 10x GB, 100x GB, and now TB! Those old Star Trek shows with the little flat plastic card they used for data storage; about the size of an old floppy disk. Now we have SD cards so small I loose them. I prefer the mini SD over those micro SD's the cell phones use. My camera uses the mini SD and I'm happy with that.

Alex Jones says that the REAL technology is way ahead and that THEY are handing it out in little bits so THEY can make the most money off of it. Alex says what we have right now is 30 years behind what is really out there.

I also believe that there were real UFO's in Roswell and that a lot of technology we have now came from that. And if you say I'm nutz I say that the Bible alludes to the fact that there is more out there than us. It is vain to think we're the only life in the infinite universe.

That's enough for now.

G'Nite!

I have about 11 TB total, I do a lot of downloading, I have about 120,000 books and a lot of TV shows and stuff.
I need another 3 TB for backup, but not at these prices!
