How much storage do you hreally have?
Don't tell me, it's not a good idea to talk about it, but last night I was figuring out how many meals I can make with my home canned meat, my tuna and spam and canned chicken, and the cases of hamburger helper and mac and cheese. I divided everything by the numbers of cans/boxes I have to use per meal, and they were all pretty much the same number of days. I like storing hamburger helper, it makes it easier to figure how many meals I can get, it has all the spices and powdered tomato and powdered cheese, and I can compare it to the cans of meat I'd have to open. I could also just add plain pasta and make it go farther. I had a pretty good amount of meals without even figuring in the wheat and dried beans. We can eat almost like we normally do, start a garden, and hopefully have enough wheat and rice and beans to keep us going as the garden takes hold.

We continue to garden the best we can depending on the spring and summer we get up here in cold country. Canning the veges, soups, meats etc. We have stored pastas and i can make my own as needed. Good luck my dh hates things like hamburger helper lol but I am sur eit helps you to know just how much you have.

tyger for the hamburger helper do you not find after a year that the cheese in the packet has gone bad...I did with mac and cheese after about a year when we had finally got to the rotating point of the mac and cheese , the cheese inside the packet had turned dark orange and had funny smell (just asking if you have experienced this)
now I bring in dried powdered cheese and can it up and pump and seal...and then seperate macaroni or spagetti
and truth be known I would have no idea how meals I have, but do know I am short in the meats dept

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.
