Post Re: gardens and such 2010
we figure what we dont sell or eat we can feed to the critters..

i think most those pics were taken before we broke down and watered..

dilli tells me i wait too long, but i am of the mindset that in dry conditions the more you water the more they will need to stay healthy..i think it is good for the roots to let them really dry out once in while..

good chance of rain tomorrow,if it dont rain, saturday and sunday will be spent doing some serious watering here.

I kind of agree with you. I was taught in organics, the more natural you go the better. Watering keeps the roots from digging deep and finding their own water. However, this is our food we are talking about and lack of water at certain times can lead to misshapen fruit, bitter fruit, excessive seediness. I say, let it go natural until it becomes worrisome and then give it water, at least while you are able.
I have rarely watered my gardens (for the most part) ...I think once if it's real dry when I plant and then maybe a couple of times during the season when it's real hot and dry, like now. But, if I can right now, I guess I will since I care more about getting the better produce this year.
