Farmeggedon(AND THEN CAME THE HAIL)
Sunday August 21 2011
today at 5:30 we have someone coming over to view the house(it is still up for sale)
so I put part of farmegeddon outside, I checked the weather channel to make sure there was no bad or cold weather coming our way..they were calling for rain which is bonus if plants can get outdoors and be watered by regular rain water...
well today sighhhhhh...
here are pictures of incoming clouds...I took them cause I knew they did not look nice..14 year old and I battened down the hatches outside(things like putting garbage pails away and bikes things like that) never did I think it would be as bad as it was
IN A MATTER OF 5 MINUTES HALF OF FARMEGGEDON WAS GONE
The clouds were coming from behind the apartment building so it was'nt till the last minute that we saw the big black ugly cloud

while taking the pictures outside we could hear the thunder is the distant loud long lasting booms...again I checked the weather channel and no watches and warnings were posted about any thunderstorms
YOU WILL NOTICE IN THE 2 PICTURES ABOVE MY CAR IS NOT UNDER THE CAR PORT
WHEN THE HAIL STARTED AND IT WAS MAKING THAT LOVELY POPPING SOUND i RACED OUTSIDE TO BRING THE CAR UNDER THE PORT..I REALIZED HOW BAD IT WAS AND THREW A LARGE TARP OVER FARMEGGEDON(kids at this point asked me if the hail hurt me)..lol
ok so here is a set of pics..I did not get a lot of the hail because as it hit it melted and by the time it stopped I was so busy getting things done and the laptop on..but here it goes..and the damage the hail caused

picture of the hail in daughters hand and althou tiny the hail came down like a wall

The wall of rain coming down afterwards

and the damages done to outdoor gardens

and my babies farmeggedon

The bigger plants like the zucchini and squash and melon in the bags survived really well...the poor little tomatoes and tobacco did not have a chance...I don't think I lost them all and do have back up outdoors in tomatoes that can come inside..
I always said have a back up plan for your back up plan for your back up plan...
