I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

Dec 6 2011

I managed to get out of town today(one hour away for a prep run here is what I got in ZEN preps)

glowsticks 2 in a package, I got 13 packages for 6.50

thumb tacks 2 packs at 50 cents each
paperclips 2 packs 50 cents each
3 packs of pens 1.00 each
2 boxes of bandages 96 cents each
fold back clips 2 packs 50 cents a pack
3-1 inch binders(for prep paper work) 90 cents each
magnetic paper clip dispenser 2 of these 75 cents each
3 packs of disposable razors 10 in a pack 1.99

polar fleece gloves 6 pairs 1.99 a pair
waterproof thermal gloves 2 pairs 2.99 a pair
thermal socks 6 pairs 1.49 a pair

2 bars of laundry soap
3 bags of icing sugar 1.99
3 bottles dish soap 1.99
Storage bags 3 packs of 40(for flour,rice,popcorn,etc) 2.49

5 bags of almonds .99 cents each
5 bags of walnuts .99 each
2 carrot peelers
and to try them out a 2 pack of those new hard boiled egg holders

2 bottles of vanilla extract

2-12 double rolls of toilet paper 5.88 each
2-6 packs of kleenex 3.99 each
4 boxes of corn startch 1.69 each
10 packs of pencils .50 cents each

I have been re capping the first 100 things to disappear in an emergency and while I was out today I kept that list in mind...The items with the prices beside them were the sale stuff i picked up(well almost all of it was on sale, but those are the best savers)

You will notice all the school supplies were about 50% off and since we have had no snow up here and the weather has been good, well retailers are desperate to sell their winter stuff and gloves, mitts, hats and boots are on sale at really good prices

I also stocked up on some food items, breakfast cereal and salad dressings and had to buy what we needed for couple of weeks...the car was packed

Post Re: Dec 1 2011
I'm too broke to prep, November was the same, sorry, I forgot it too!
January and February I'll be replacing what I've used and prepping again for real.
We bought DD a digital piano, 88 keys, weighted keys, with a bench and everything. That's the biggest Christmas present, DH is getting a Kindle Fire, as is oldest DS. The younger kids are getting games, toys, and writing desks to share.
Once I catch up the bills from all this, we can return to prepping and eating meat, I hope.
