Post Dead cicadas?
I live on the sunny southern shores of Lake Erie in NEOH and have found about a dozen dead cicadas in the yard this past week. The first was on the patio, thought it might have hit the house and died. The second was by the chicken coop and thought the girls had gotten it. Several more in the back I can't account for and then found one dead in the drive this morning.

I rarely see cicadas, yet alone so many dead ones. Any ideas?

cicadas only come out every 17 years..I thought I had hearda couple of them up here this year...

they may just be completing their final cycle...

Its been years since I have seen one, I remember as a child and we live in the country, that we could collect the dead ones, take them to school and we would have to do a project on them

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.
