Haven't had any money for preps for a while. But I've been organizing the preps that I do have to be easier to find and get to.

I'll list what I did last week, since I didn't list it when I did it. Hope that's ok
I dehydrated some summer squash, sprinkled some with salt and some with seasoned salt to see which I like best. We've been eating a lot of what's been coming out of the garden as salads. I put all the berries in the freezer to make jam with later when it's not hot. I picked 16 pints of blueberries last week.
We went to BJ's, out local big box place. I got two big 45 roll packs of TP. Got a huge paper towel pack (think it has 18 in it), got a few cleaning supplies, some other items I can get in large packs, like canned pasta and viena sausages. Picked up 25#'s of sugar and 20#'s of pasta. Then I hit the medicine department and got a bunch of bandaids that daughter said we needed, my allergy meds (a years worth), a years worth of reading glasses, light bulbs, a mag light for hubby and all the over the counter meds we depleted in the last 3 months and tried to build it up a bit more. also got 3 months of dog food.
It is upsetting to me that we are holding at our present level, but pricing has gone up so much that it is getting harder and harder to add more months to our prep total. However, over all I feel very good that I was able to restock the preps.

I picked over a gallon of blue berries. Cleaned and froze them. Picked some onions from the garden and dehydrated them. Finally found some mullein. Dried the leaves for tea. Put the flowers in olive oil for sore ears. I have not been in a store for at least a month.

Well I had a little moolah for preps so I got 4 flashlights at Harbor Freight for $1.99 each.

Four interchangeable lenses: red, green, yellow, white. Outer lens cap holder. Black oxide belt clip holder.
They are very sturdy and useful.
Plus a package of wire ties and a pocketknife.

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

I got 2 more cheap sleeping bags at WallMart for $9,88 each. Yeah, they are good only to 45 degrees, but TWO of them are very warm and still cheaper than a "good" sleeping bag. So we now have 4 "extra" sleeping bags. Plus 2 in the car.
We also got some cans of pa-sketti-os, several jars of spaghetti sauce (on sale) and a big fan (on sale) to keep the house cool. Plus I got 2 pairs of cargo shorts at the thrift store for $3.50

Two things:

1. Is it bulb or that new fangled LED?

2. Have you dropped it from 10 feet?

2a - if so - how'd it do?
2b - if not and you are going to - please post how it did.

It takes a bulb. And I will try not to drop it when I am on the roof. ;-]
I can only afford to do 'non-destructive testing' on my equipment. Please send samples and I will drop-test them for you.

Got them at the big box store (mine is BJ's, but Sam's and Costco have them too, so do some superWalMart). I think I paid about $20-$22 for them because I had a coupon for each of them.

Also stopped at City Mission Thrift Store.
Not much there but I did come home with:
5 quart canning jars, 2 wide mouth, 3 regular
2 boxes of wide mouth lids/bands
All for $3.98
About 1/2 the cost of one box of lids at retail.

Now THAT is impressive ! And shows that prepping isn't all roughing it eating beans and rice.
