I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

Sigh, may have to eat preps this week, our tenant didn't pay her rent all month, now I guess we have to evict her.
Maybe we could suggest she move to the smaller house next door, it's cheaper.

oh no...now rentals are going to start taking a hit...people just don't have the money to pay, its eighter the bills or food and given some peoples circumstances they will more then likely choose food

We've had plenty of months where we were struggling because the houses weren't rented, but this is the first time we've had a tenant who just didn't pay.
Especially in Georgia, where you can start the eviction process if they're a day late! (She's in her second month of nonpayment!)

When I had rentals (29) that was the biggest mistake I made.
Not moving on non-payment fast enough.
I'm a softie

Second month is too long.
Talk to them.
If they want to make arrangements, maybe. But hold their feet to the fire.

But give them an eviction notice notice and firmly let them know if they don't pay as agreed, you'll evict

We've got a new property management company, they sent her a notice last week, they'll file for dispossessory this week if she doesn't pay. Then she'll have seven days to pay after receiving that notice.
I wish we could sell them, the real estate guy said to wait, the value will go up when the new troops arrive at Ft. Benning.
If we ever sell them, I made my list, I'm getting a well, solar power, a greenhouse and composting toilets.
I'd like a metal roof and brick siding to make the house more fireproof in case of riots.

Kroger had a 10 items for $10 sale and I picked up 5 toothbrushes and 5-100 yard spools
of dental floss.

Also picked up an assortment of different pain relief meds for home and firstaid kit.

Also, because of aggravation of allergies, I bought every known decongestant and
antihistamine for the preps.
(You have to be careful in Indiana about buying over the legal limit of psuedo ephedrine
as it is a precursor of crystal meth, and it is a serious crime to buy to much, either in
one stop, or many).

This week I am going to buy a new pressure canner from http://www.redhillgeneralstore.com/
as mine was inherited from my grandmother, who bought it in the 1920's.
90 years is enough, and I may sell it on ebay or to someone else.

BTW, I was looking for a new canner on their site, and the makers now offer ones that can be used on a smooth top range.

Can't prep anymore - food prices getting too high - everything getting too high!

We had a chance to sell our small second house or rent it out. We decided to sell. Somehow we saw the writing on the wall and didn't want to be bothered with people defaulting on the rent and sticking us with the loss of income at a time when we might really need the money.
I also saw a friend of mine suffer because he got stiffed on the rent for 5 months before eviction. The laws protect the tenant more than the owner in his case.

Same up here....I have a lot of the kids back to school supplies prepped from years back and some from this year...now I have to figure out how to buy winter coats and boots for this winter...

I did buy some preps on Sat but as I said in eighter this thread or another thread I have used bill money...and will be spending next couple of months playing catch up...I can hardly wait till my car payment is done only 3 more months and that will free up 250.00 extra a month for basic items..

Bought 4 cases of pint and quart canning jars, 2 dozen pint jars with lids and bands @$ 7.50 each.

New canner is on it's way from seller to me.
DW says the freezer must be cleaned out before winter, and it is full of meat and vegetables, which I am going to can, and add to stuff stored as preps, then we have half a hog coming in November,
and a quarter of a grass fed steer in mid winter, if God Blesses.
