Wow time keeps slipping by so fast

Most of my time late;y has been takin up with packing for the selling of the house and last few weeks I have been deathly ill....Now I will have to re-prep up on cold/flu meds we went through everything this winter.

I have never been so glad that spring is here and that the warmer weather is approaching.. ooo

I don’t think it’s a matter of “is it coming.” I think that it’s already here, it’s just a matter of perspective. From one perspective, our frog friends are telling us that we should be grateful that the “spa” is hot and luxurious. From the cook’s perspective… another 10 minutes and we’ll be dinner.

Kelee, I don't know whether it is available up there, but down here there is a product
called Emergen-C which is 1000 mg of vitamin C and complete vitamin B complex that
you dissolve in warm water and drink 2 or 3 times a day.
Something like that would be most useful as it supports your immune system IMO.

There is a comparable product to Emergen-C under the Life brand at SDM.
My best results have been from a combination of Cold-FX and a product from some health food stores called Vital Greens by NAKA.

I don't if it's like this in Canada, but here if you buy a lot of cold meds at one time, in some states you can go to jail and in other states you get put on a watch list.
I think they make meth out of some cold medicines. You might want to space out your purchases.

VERY IMPORTANT POINT TYGER,
Here in Indiana if you buy over X amount of pseudo ephedrine, which is more commonly
known here as Sudafed, you can be taken to jail before you get out of the store,
through a state wide registry.
THESE MEDICINES ARE CALLED MANY DIFFERENT NAMES, and the sign by the register says very clearly that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to obey the law and the pharmacy staff are not
responsible for your actions

Right now prepping involves buying as much food as I can as fast as I can.

Some rice I bought last month has jumped $2. So I did not buy it last week.

It is going to get REAL BAD soon! Inflation is going to finish us off. I already can't afford gas for my truck much less new license plates. I got my bicycle but I need new tires soon...

Heading up to the BOL today now that enough snow is gone to drive in. Get some spring water so we don't have to drink the Berkey filtered tap water.
Bringing some more material for cold frames and get the soil warming up some more.

Chocolate chocolate chocolate. Amazon had it on sale and I loaded up!
I never even liked chocolate until recently! I've always been a vanilla person. Must be my "middle age" hormones kicking in.
They had four bags for $8 of some kinds, 6 bags for $12 of some kinds, and boxes of candy bars for $10-15.
We already ate the box of Reese's Dark, a bag of Hershey's nuggets (HEAVENLY!) a bag of kit kats, and some paydays so I'd better bury the rest in the backyard and pour concrete over it if I want it to last.
I finally got the first and only season of Ellery Queen starring Jim Hutton, so every time he looks at the screen and says "I know who did it, do you?" I stop the DVD and we all guess who did it, and the winner(s) gets chocolate!
Seriously, amazon destroyed my budget with this sale. vux

I gotta learn to shop at amazon

I am basically only able to shop at Krogers down here.
However, I found dry black beans, at 99 cents a pound.
If the inflation gets much worse, I will need to start serious discount store
shopping (me planning stops, DW doing the shopping) as I can't stay on my
feet long enough to do the shopping in different stores all over town.

Through store affinity coupons, ( a scan a barcode on your keychain), $1.50 on 2 bags of salad wee needed, a free pound of butter, 12 pk of cottonelle Bath tissue, half price, and
3 Hormel canned meats at 50 cents off each.

My major prep is a monthly order I make through Angel food ministries, which is not yet available
in the Great White North.

IF you Canadiens would find civic groups to host a Angel food group up there, I know the American directors would help set it up as they have in Israel.

Another great resource is www.hillbillyhousewife.com
for frugal ideas and resources

Amazon is tricky, what's cheap now may triple in price in an hour. I bought three big bags of hershey nuggets for $11, and when I looked at them again later, thinking I'd order more, they were $31! Seriously!
I subscribe to the "Movers and Shakers" RSS feeds on my yahoo.
Those are lists of items that are selling fast, so usually those are the good deals. By the time those items make it to the bestseller list, they've gone back up in price.

These are links that might help you find bargains:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.html/r ... i=16310101
http://www.amazon.com/Sales-Grocery/b/r ... 1000575221
http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link_75 ... i=52129011
http://www.amazon.com/gp/movers-and-sha ... =zg_bs_tab

They have a thing called subscribe and save, you save 15% if you subscribe, shipping is free even if it comes to less than $25, and you can cancel the subscription immediately with no penalties. Sometimes they have coupons that can be used with subscribe and save to bring the savings up to 30% or more!
Always subscribe where possible, and then just cancel it (under "your account," "manage subscriptions").
