Australia's hockey stars are set to board a plane to India on Sunday despite yesterday's reported threat by al-Qaeda that the World Cup could be a terrorist target.

After the first known case of al-Qaeda warning sporting organisations of an imminent strike, officials were last night scrambling to ascertain the legitimacy of the threat to the Commonwealth Games, the Indian Premier League cricket tournament and hockey's World Cup.
